They found a tapestry depicting the 700-year-old storming of the castle. At the foot of the stairs, they confronted a vile experiment coming down the steps to attack. Blasted by a shotgun, it lay dead at their feet. Peter stepped over it to climb the stairs. Phillip double-tapped it with his hatchet. 2 nd Floor : They cautiously climbed the stairs that lead to a long room. Old portraits hung on the west wall while the east wall was interspersed with arrow slits that looked out over the castle courtyard and the town’s center plaza. Peter and Essie (Self-help): [ key connection : Significant Person] 19-21 May, Weekend retreat : After missing out on a long overdue vacation, Peter planned a weekend outing in the Wachusett Mountains. Quiet relaxation in a cozy cabin since the ski season ended. His brush with death broke his hesitancy: he invited Essie along. They spent the weekend relaxing, enjoying the outdoors, and rekindling their relationship, leaving their worries (and hopefully the occult) behind. At least when they returned to Arkham, they had renewed their will to carry on, facing whatever the world has to throw at them. Jimmy (Graham), Peter (Jordan), Essie (Whitney), Riche (Jon) 1pm, Friday, 19 Sept : The Garsetti house was in flames behind them as they stood in the driveway. Jimmy had just dumped the mobster’s body in the well, “To keep old Mrs. Jane Garsetti company. But these notes in his pockets point to Zeek behind everything.” Riche sat in the backseat with the broken Andrew rescued from Josephine’s cultist grasp, "We can face Zeek later. Right now, we need to get Andrew to a doctor!" Peter was weak from the spell attack by Josephine who had drained his constitution. He was still reeling from the vision of the Dweller in the Void in that upstairs bedroom. At least he (12) and Riche (11) still had their Flesh Ward armor that was useless against the witch’s spells. Essie was troubled by her hopeless feeling during the encounter: unable to give aid to Peter’s injuries while unable to assist in Josephine’s demise.
